Hey! I’m Simon, a pain science research student from Western Sydney University. As a passionate educator, pain science researcher, and avid cyclist, I’m super excited to join the ‘Pain Revolution’ ride in 2018. Why? Because participating in the ‘Pain Revolution’ means that I will get a chance to make a difference in the lives of people suffering with chronic pain - one of Australia’s most prevalent health problem!
As part of the ‘Pain Revolution’, I will be riding with like-minded enthusiasts from Sydney to Albury-Wodonga (750km, with 11,500m elevation). Along the way, we (the riders) will stop and engage with local communities and support the delivery of workshops explaining the latest in chronic pain treatments. By doing this, we hope to make positive changes in the lives of people with chronic pain in Australian regional communities (where persistent pain hits the hardest).
I have pledged to raise a minimum of $3000. Donations will go directly to support an ongoing Local Pain Educator Network, a program that will help improve the recovery and prevention of chronic pain by providing education and support for professionals and people with pain in rural areas. For more information, visit https://www.painrevolution.org/.
Please help me reduce the burden of chronic pain by donating whatever you can. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. Hope to see you on the road!
